UK's LiGHT 26 Opens on 18 November: Specification-Driven Demand Raises the Bar on Light Quality

A Show That Looks at Light, Not Price Tags

LiGHT 26, the UK's only trade show dedicated to high-end lighting specification, takes place on 18–19 November at the Business Design Centre in London, where hundreds of architectural and decorative lighting brands will present their latest products, technologies and solutions. Unlike mass-market consumer fairs, the audience here is made up largely of lighting designers, architects and MEP consultants — and when they open a catalogue, the first thing they look at is the light, not the unit price.

Specification Checklists Are Getting Specific

Specification checklists for premium commercial projects in Europe are now remarkably detailed: is unified glare rating UGR kept below 19, can color rendering index Ra hold steady above 90, does the same batch stay within 3-step SDCM, is the dimming curve smooth without jumps across the whole range, will it integrate seamlessly with DALI or wireless control, and is the junction between luminaire and ceiling or wall resolved cleanly? These points are hard to win with a rendering alone — they demand measured photometric files and third-party reports.

What This Means for Manufacturers

As a manufacturer of LED downlights and spotlights serving European commercial clients, KINXZO feels this shift directly: competition is moving from "appearance and price" to "verifiable optical data." That means every deep anti-glare spotlight needs complete IES/LDT photometric files, genuine electrical and optical parameters, and stable batch-to-batch consistency; drivers must be compatible with mainstream dimming protocols and remain flicker-free at low output. Getting these fundamentals right is worth more than launching ten more cosmetic variants. Our recent investment in optical design, SDCM binning and dimming compatibility follows exactly this path.
