TrendForce's latest quarterly report strikes a cautious note: with memory chip shortages and price surges, the global LED market value in 2026 is projected to fall to about US$12.1 billion, with consumer demand clearly suppressed.
That figure covers the LED device market rather than finished luminaires, but the transmission logic is direct: chip price swings push costs up the supply chain and slow the shipping pace of consumer products. The report also notes brands are accelerating premium product launches, and over the long term Micro LED CPO interconnect and near-eye display applications will open new opportunities, with market value projected to recover to US$15 billion by 2030.
For buyers, the practical near-term impact is a narrower window for price negotiation; for suppliers, it is a reason to re-examine inventory structure — concentrating resources on products with clearer demand is safer than betting on a price rebound.
