OEM/ODM Trade Order Process

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) are the most common cooperation models in lighting trade. Understanding the complete process reduces communication costs and ensures smooth project progression.

Step 1: Requirement Communication & Design

Customers provide: 1) Product type (spotlight/downlight/magnetic light); 2) Technical parameters (power, CCT, efficacy, driver brand); 3) Smart requirements (Tuya/HomeKit/non-smart); 4) Packaging and logo requirements; 5) Target price and annual volume. Factories provide quotations within 24-48 hours. KINXZO's ODM service includes free 3D appearance design and DIALux lighting simulation.

Step 2: Sample Confirmation

Customers pay sample fees (typically $50-$200/style), factories produce samples in 7-15 days. After delivery, customers test efficacy, appearance, and packaging. Upon confirmation, a formal contract is signed, and sample fees are refunded with the mass order.

Step 3: Contract Signing & Advance Payment

The contract specifies product specs, quantity, unit price, lead time, payment terms (typically 30% T/T deposit, 70% against B/L copy), quality standards, and breach liabilities. Production begins after the customer pays the deposit.

Step 4: Mass Production & Quality Inspection

Production lead time is typically 25-35 days. KINXZO implements a three-tier inspection system: IQC (incoming quality control), IPQC (in-process patrol), and OQC (outgoing quality control). Customers may appoint third-party inspectors (SGS/BV) for inspection before shipment.

Step 5: Shipping & After-sales

Upon completion, FOB/CIF/DDP shipping is arranged per customer requirements. Complete shipping documents are provided (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certification documents). KINXZO provides a 2-year warranty with free replacement for quality issues.
